Position Title: Senior Psychologist
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time/Direct Hire
Client Contact Hours: Typically 20 clients per week (may vary based on role and career track)
Location: Cleveland QLD
Reports To: Practice Director / Clinical Lead
Supervision Arrangements: Peer supervision within the practice, potential for clinical supervision (if applicable), and ongoing professional development support. Senior Psychologists are also expected to provide supervision to junior staff.

Job Summary
As a Senior Psychologist with this practice, you will play a key role in providing high-quality psychological services while taking on leadership responsibilities within the practice. This position offers opportunities to specialise clinically or to contribute to the management and operational growth of the practice, depending on your chosen career track:
1. Clinical Specialist Track: You will focus on becoming a recognised expert in a specific field of psychology, such as trauma, child psychology, or autism.
2. Practice Management Track: You will take on more responsibility for the day-to-day operations, business development, and leadership within the practice.
Regardless of the track chosen, you will be responsible for client care, staff mentoring, business development, and contributing to the practice’s strategic goals. Your role will also include providing supervision to junior psychologists and provisional psychologists as needed.

Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Practice and Leadership
• Provide advanced psychological interventions to clients, utilising your specialist knowledge and experience.
• Conduct complex psychological assessments and develop tailored treatment plans for clients with diverse needs.
• Take a leadership role in case discussions, providing insights and guidance to colleagues on complex cases.
2. Specialisation and Career Development (Clinical Specialist Track)
• Develop expertise in your chosen field (e.g., trauma, autism, or a specific therapy modality) through ongoing professional development and certification.
• Contribute to practice knowledge by leading workshops, training sessions, and providing supervision to less experienced colleagues.
• Participate in or lead research projects, case studies, or publications, establishing yourself as a leader in your area of expertise.
• Actively contribute to the practice’s marketing initiatives, enhancing the practice’s reputation in your specialist area.
3. Practice Management and Business Development (Practice Management Track)
• Oversee aspects of the practice’s day-to-day operations, including client satisfaction, staff management, and operational improvements.
• Lead or contribute to business development projects, including marketing initiatives, financial management, and strategic planning.
• Mentor and supervise junior psychologists and provisional psychologists, helping them develop their clinical and operational skills.
• Take responsibility for areas of business operation (e.g., finance, marketing, team development) and contribute to the practice’s overall success.
4. Supervision and Mentoring
• Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to provisional psychologists, early-career psychologists, and peers.
• Ensure high standards of clinical practice within the team by offering guidance and support on complex cases and ethical issues.
• Encourage a culture of professional growth and peer learning within the practice.
5. Documentation and Compliance
• Maintain thorough and accurate client records in accordance with APS and AHPRA guidelines, ensuring all documentation complies with legal and ethical standards.
• Ensure that supervised staff are also maintaining high standards of documentation and compliance.
• Actively contribute to the practice’s risk management processes by identifying potential clinical and operational risks and taking steps to mitigate them.
6. Professional Development and Leadership
• Engage in ongoing professional development, attending CPD workshops and seeking additional certifications relevant to your career track.
• Take a leadership role within the practice by leading in-house professional development sessions and contributing to the development of practice policies and procedures.
• Represent this practice in external forums, conferences, or community engagement activities as a leader in your field.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
• Full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA.
• A minimum of 3-6 years of experience in a clinical setting, with demonstrated expertise in a chosen field of psychology.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, mentor, and manage junior staff.
• Advanced knowledge and application of evidence-based psychological interventions.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to collaborate effectively with both clients and colleagues.
• Proven ability to meet KPIs, including client retention, satisfaction, and business development goals.
Desirable:
• Specialisation in a specific area of psychology (e.g., trauma, child psychology, autism) with additional certifications.
• Experience in business management or leadership roles (for Practice Management Track).
• A proven track record of contributing to research, publications, or public presentations.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Client Satisfaction and Retention:
• Maintain at least 85-90% client retention and achieve consistently high client satisfaction scores.
Leadership and Supervision:
• Provide effective supervision and mentoring to junior staff, with high satisfaction ratings from supervisees.
• Lead internal training sessions and contribute to team development, ensuring a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Business Development (Management Track):
• Contribute to the financial success of the practice by meeting revenue generation targets, contributing to marketing efforts, and ensuring operational efficiency.
• Lead or support business development initiatives, ensuring growth in client numbers and service offerings.

The Senior Psychologist will work within their supportive, nature-themed environment in Cleveland. Flexibility is offered depending on the chosen career track (Clinical Specialist or Practice Management). The role will involve both client-facing work and leadership responsibilities, with opportunities for career progression within the practice.

Career Progression Opportunities
Senior Psychologists have access to two primary career pathways:
1. Clinical Specialist Track: You can progress towards becoming a Principal Psychologist with responsibilities in specialised areas of practice, research, and clinical supervision.
2. Practice Management Track: Progress towards taking on full responsibility for the practice’s operations as a Practice Director or Principal Psychologist, contributing to the practice’s strategic direction and overall success.
Both pathways offer structured milestones, leadership roles, and support for professional development.
