Dear Psychiatrist
A vacancy has come up on the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team that provides an intensive and highly integrated approach for community mental health services for non-acute individuals.
This an outpatient service with the Psychiatrist meeting with individuals in their homes whose symptoms can lead to serious functioning difficulties if not treated. Many patients have personality disorders and are adults or older adults with related high and complex needs.
One of my expat US Psychiatrists often took her therapy trained and certified German Shepherd with her when meeting patients in their homes.
The team is comprised of registered health professionals including occupational therapy, social work, nursing, psychology and medical. These professionals provide and assertive and intensive level of community mental health care and treatment that supports individuals to live successfully in the community.
Referrals to this service come through the hospital’s triage service.
This role is based in Hamilton on the North Island which offers all of the amenities of being close to Auckland, our largest city, without having to endure Auckland’s issues.
I would personally handle all of your registration paperwork, put you in touch with my fabulous NZ registered immigration consultant to advise you on how to apply for your work visa and help you settle into NZ.

Job Title: Specialist Psychiatrist on ACT Team
Open to: All Qualified, Trained, Board Certified Psychiatrists whose English is excellent with a health care system deemed by WHO to be comparable to that of New Zealand, ie Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, United Kingdom or the United States of America
Location: Hamilton, North Island, New Zealand
Job Type: Permanent, Direct Hire
Commitment: Must stay for at least two years as clients need a stable situation with their Psychiatrist
Relocation: $15,000 plus your registration costs will be reimbursed
Salary: Up to $216,500 base salary, potential to earn up to an additional $35,000 for being on-call once a month plus 6% employer matching KiwiSaver superannuation
Start Date: Within 60 days after your provisional vocational registration is approved
Registration: I would handle, guide, advise and facilitate your entire registration application paperwork and process that takes up to six months for the Medical Council of New Zealand
Certification: The Medical Clinic will sort out your medical registration/license for you.
Work Visa: I would put you in touch with my immigration consultant whom has a 100% success rate in getting work visas approved for my overseas Doctors
Benefits: a) six weeks paid annual leave or vacation per annum;
